We got hungry on our 500 mile trek from Manhattan to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada so we decided to stop and grab a bit. We didn't know that we just picked the smallest town in all upstate NY, Canandaigua, circa 1796.
The BBQ joint Sticky Fingers, unrelated to the chain Sticky Fingers in the south, absolutely was the worst BBQ experience I've ever had. The pulled pork platter was swimming in BBQ before I had a chance to taste the flavor of the meat. The cornbread was undercooked, as well as the sausage being dried up like fruit in trail-mix.
Needless to say the entrée for lunch was atrocious; however, the cranberry granola bar from the Pheonix Coffeeshop next door was off the charts!!! The dessert bar totally redeemed my Canandaigua experience.
The town was über colonial and quaint, which is how I prefer my "suburb," unlike a typical suburb on the outskirts of a large metropolis.
On to Niagara Falls!
Good picture of dessert. NOT
